The Kyocera Institute of Japan, which specializes in industrial precision ceramic components, optical instruments and telecommunication equipment, is an international company. At the same time, it is one of the earliest foreign enterprises established friendly cooperative relationship with Shilong town.

    Founded in 1987, the Yuelong Universal Optical Industry is the first Japanese material-processing enterprise in Shilong town. During these ten years, the two companies develop their cooperation quickly. They invested HK$ 150 million to set up a joint venture, Donguan Shilong Kyocera Optics Co., Ltd. in July 1996, which is mainly engaged in the manufacturing of YASHICA advanced camera and components.

    In 1999, the digital copier representing Kyocera-Mita Company's sharp digital technology is put into production successfully in Shilong Factory. It indicates a new phase of cooperation between Shilong Town and Kyocera Company.

    In the new millennium, Kyocera will cooperate with Shilong Town widely in digital information, optical field, and production environment, contributing to friendly economic relationship between the two parties, as well as friendship between the people of China and Japan.
