    Shilong Port Logistic Industrial Park is 500 meters far from the Shilong Railway Freight Station. The loading and unloading point of the Shilong Port waterborne port and railway transportation is inside of the Park. The Park has an area of 2000 mu (about 13.3 hectares), and is invested by the Shilong Industrial Corporation. Shilong Port Logistic Industrial Park will be a great drive for Shilong's economic development and Dongguan's logistic economy.

    Situation and Transportation of the Port

    Shilong Port Logistic Industrial Park locates at Dongguan's Shilong town, at the lower reaches of the East River which belongs to the Pearl River System. It is 42 kilometers far from the bayou of the East River. North latitude 23 degree and 08, and east 113 degree and 51. From west south it is 13 kilometer far from Dongguan. From the south it is 80 kilometers far from Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. From north it is 69 kilometers far from Guangzhou. It is at the middle of the Guangzhou*Shenzhen Railway, and near Hong Kong and Macao. Both land and water transportation is very convenient. Going against the East River, we can reach Huizhou, Boluo, Heyuan, Zijin and Laolong. Going along the lower reaches of East River and up to the Pearl River, we can arrive Huangpu, Guangzhou, Zhaoqing and Wuzhou, to the west is the cities at the Pearl River Daltar such as Jiangmen, Rongqi and Foshan. Going along the lower reaches of East River, Zhanjing, Shantou and Hong Kong, Macao can be reached. There are railway specialized lines, and the Honghai Railway station is open to railway stations all over the country. As for the highway, to the west south and to along the Dongguan*Shilong highway we can reach the Guangzhou*Shenzhen highway to Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Through the Dongguan*Zhangmutou highway we can directly arrive Huizhou, Xingning, Meizhou and Shantou. Through Boluo's Shiwan highway we can reach Guangzhou*Shantou highway and then to the cities and towns at the Pearl River Deltar.

NATURAL CONDITION

    (1) Hydrology

    Flow and velocity of the tide and river way
    The highest water level in history is 6.69 meter, which happened in 1959. The lowest 0.02-meter. The average low tide level is 0.92 meter. The average tide level is 1.47 meter. The average tide difference is 0.90 meter.
    Generally the velocity of flow is 0.74 meter/second. While flooding the velocity of flow is 2.01 meter/second. The average velocity of flow in the past years is 0.74 meter/second. The highest is 2.47 meter/second. The average flow is 700 cubic meter/second.

    (2) Meteorology

    1. Temperature: It belongs to the oceanic weather. In one year there are more than 230 days with the average daily temperature higher than 20*C, and there are 50*60 days with average daily temperature lower than 15*C. In the past years the average temperature is 22 *C. The highest temperature is 37.9 *C (5th September, 1963), and the lowest 0.9 *C (16th December, 1975).
    3. Rainfall: The largest rainfall in the past years is 2326 mm. The average rainfall is 1844 mm. The rainy season is from April to August.
    4. Wind: It is at subtropical zone and with the monsoon area's characteristic. With mainly south wind in summer, and north wind in winter. The frequency is 17% from late autumn to late spring. The average wind speed is 1.9 meter/second. The highest wind speed is 18 meter/second. The wind direction is SSE. The typhoon season is from July to October. On average every year it is attacked by typhoon 6 times.
    5. Mist: There are some mist days in a year. The biggest mist month is March, which has 2 days of mist day. April has 1 mist day, and May has 1 mist day.

NOWADAYS STATUS

    (1) Port berths: There are 30 berths in the port, with the total berth length 941 meters.
    (2) Ground: The total area of the ground is 44826 square meters, with the loading and unloading capacity 68676 tons, among this there are 12000 square meters' storehouse, with the storing capacity 13200 tons, and the yard area 32826 square meters, with the capacity 55476 tons.
    (3) Loading and unloading machines: Now there are 15 loading and unloading machines at the Port, among which 5 are fixed crane with the highest lifting capacity 5 tons, and 2 portable crane with the highest lifting capacity 8 tons and 5 tons respectively. There are 5 loading machines with single bucket and the highest lifting capacity 3.6 tons. 1 diesel traction machine and the highest lifting capacity 20 tons. 1 fort truck with the highest lifting capacity 3 tons.
    (4) The Port is designed to get through 800,000 cargoes every year. The highest loading and unloading capacity is 1,500,000 tons. There are specialized railway lines in the port with the total length 5,400 meters.
